The Jefferson Christian Academy Eagles waltzed into Tuesday's contest with two straight wins but they left with three. They came out on top against Altamont by a score of 53-40. That's another feather in the cap for Jefferson Christian Academy, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Jefferson Christian Academy was led to victory by Allison Wormely and Jada Washington. Wormely dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds, while Washington scored 19 points along with 8 rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Wormely has scored at least 25% of Jefferson Christian Academy's points.
Payton Daniels and Tanner Battle certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Daniels scored 18 points, while Battle scored 15 points. Battle scored a full 37.5% of Altamont's points, the seventh time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Jefferson Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Altamont, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.
Jefferson Christian Academy will head out on the road to face off against Talladega County Central at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Altamont won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Jackson-Olin at 6:00 p.m. on November 29th.
