Ash Grove has gone a perfect 3-0 against Jasper recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Pirates will be playing at home against the Eagles at 4:30 p.m. Ash Grove's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Jasper's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
On Saturday, Ash Grove came up short against Ava and fell 7-4. The Pirates haven't had much luck with the Bears recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.
Jaden Shorter was huge no matter where he played even without the win. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Shorter wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Saxton Kinney, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.
Meanwhile, Jasper got the win against Lockwood on Friday by a conclusive 12-4. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by six runs or more this season.
The team relied heavily on Quentin Winans, who went 3-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. He has become a key player for Jasper: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 8-9 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Colt Storm, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Jasper kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lockwood only managed five.
The victory made it two in a row for Jasper and bumps their season record up to 12-9. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Ash Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 23-6-1.
Ash Grove got the 'W' in their previous meeting back in May of 2025 against Jasper by a conclusive 10-3 score. Do the Pirates have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Eagles turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
