The Hooks Hornets put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Redwater 76-0 on the road. The result was nothing new for Hooks, who have now won five matchups by 41 points or more so far this season.
Leading Hooks to victory were Keyshawn Walls and Ripken Birdwell. Walls rushed for 178 yards and four touchdowns on only 11 carries, while Birdwell threw for 371 yards and five touchdowns while completing 81% of his passes. Rodrevious Bailey did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 95 receiving yards.
Hooks' defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB eight times. The heavy lifting was done by Ra'Kadrian Minter and Kolton Lybrand who racked up four sacks between them.
Hooks' win was their seventh straight on the road (dating back to last season), which bumped their overall record up to 8-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 46.9 points per game. As for Redwater, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
Coincidentally, Hooks and Redwater will both be playing De Kalb the next time they take the field. Hooks will host De Kalb at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Redwater will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on November 3rd.
