The Payson Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Orem Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Payson will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Payson posted their biggest victory yet this season on Tuesday. They breezed by Uintah on the road to the tune of 60-32. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Payson just coasted through the last quarter.
Oaklie Jackman continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points she has scored all season. Cheznie Roundy was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Orem suffered their biggest defeat since December 7, 2023 on Friday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 54-32 walloping at the hands of Provo. Orem has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Payson pushed their record up to 10-7 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 27.67 points. As for Orem, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-12 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Payson against Orem in their previous matchup on January 9th as the team secured a 64-15 win. With Payson ahead 33-5 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
