Softball Recap: Woodland Wins Going Away Against Barnwell

Woodland hadn't done well against Barnwell recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Wolverines put the hurt on the Warhorses with a sharp 11-5 win. Considering the Wolverines have won six matchups by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Woodland let Dallas LaChance and Josie Mitchum run wild. LaChance got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI, while Mitchum got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Alyssa McClellan also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Woodland is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. As for Barnwell, their defeat dropped their record down to 20-6.

As of now, neither Woodland nor the Warhorses have any future games scheduled.
