The Blackhawk Cougars''s ten-game losing streak dating back to last season came to an end on Friday. They managed a 20-14 win over New Castle. The win was just what Blackhawk needed coming off of a 45-13 loss in their prior game.
Blackhawk's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Maurice Watson-Trent led the charge by rushing for 142 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Stephen Knallay, who threw for 140 yards and two touchdowns.
Blackhawk's win bumped their record up to 1-9. As for New Castle, their defeat was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), which bumped their record down to 1-9.
Blackhawk does not have any more games scheduled as of now. New Castle also has no future games currently scheduled.
