Basketball Game Preview: First Coast Christian Knights vs. St. Johns Country Day Spartans

First Coast Christian hasn't had much luck against St. Johns Country Day recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The First Coast Christian Knights will head out to take on the St. Johns Country Day Spartans at 6:00 p.m.

First Coast Christian's tournament run continued when they took on Beaches Chapel on Friday. First Coast Christian took a hard 57-42 fall against Beaches Chapel.

Meanwhile, St. Johns Country Day won against First Coast Christian last Friday with 84 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Wednesday. St. Johns Country Day blew past Stanton 84-48. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.

First Coast Christian better focus on containing Dylan Reach and Grayson Moody as the pair were huge in St. Johns Country Day's win. Reach dropped a double-double on 23 points and 14 boards, while Moody almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. Those 23 points gave Reach a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Camden Cooper, who went 5 of 10 en route to 16 points.

St. Johns Country Day smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 29 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in 12 consecutive contests.

St. Johns Country Day has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-11 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.0 points per game. As for First Coast Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 11-11.

First Coast Christian might still be hurting after the 84-59 defeat they got from St. Johns Country Day when the teams last played last Friday. Can First Coast Christian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
