Fontainebleau has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Covington Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Fontainebleau has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Last Friday, Fontainebleau was able to grind out a solid victory over Hammond, taking the game 60-47.
Among those leading the charge was Annalise Shidel, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 steals. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. Isabelle Chevalier was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Covington unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They had to suffer through a rough 60-20 loss at the hands of Ponchatoula. While losing is never fun, Covington can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 255th, while Ponchatoula is ranked 36th).
Fontainebleau's win bumped their record up to 20-6. As for Covington, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-11.
Fontainebleau came out on top in a nail-biter against Covington in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, sneaking past 52-50. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fontainebleau since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
