The Priddy Pirates entered their tilt with the Evant Elks with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Priddy enjoyed a cozy 53-39 victory over Evant on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Priddy also won the last time the pair played back in January.
Evant's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luwi Rodriguez, who scored nine points along with five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Molly Waldrum, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Priddy's victory was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-0. As for Evant, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-3.
After both having extra time off, Priddy and Gustine will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on January 2, 2024. Evant will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Iredell at 6:00 p.m. on December 29th. Iredell is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
