After flying high against the Union City Golden Tornadoes last Tuesday, the Huntingdon Mustangs came back down to earth. Huntingdon took a 63-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Dyersburg. While losing is never fun, Huntingdon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while Dyersburg is ranked 15th).
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Dyersburg to victory, but perhaps none more so than Joya Crawford, who scored 20 points. The match was Crawford's eighth in a row with at least ten points. Netala Dixon was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 steals.
Huntingdon's defeat dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Dyersburg, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.
Huntingdon will head out on the road to face off against Chester County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Dyersburg, they will square off against Princeton at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Princeton's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
