Normal University waltzed into their contest  on Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Springfield Southeast Spartans 51-6 at home. Considering the Pioneers have won six matches by more than 19  points this season, Friday's  blowout was nothing new.
 Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Normal University to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Alek Weiland, who threw for 350 yards and four touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes. Weiland is  on a roll when it comes to  passing touchdowns, as he's  now  passed for three or more in the last six games he's  played dating back to last season. Another player making a difference was  Rhett Lynch, who rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries.
 Normal University's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB  five times. Leading the way was  Cole Matejka with  2.5 sacks.
 Normal University pushed their record up to 6-2 with the  win, which was their tenth straight  at home dating back to last season. As for Springfield Southeast, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Normal University will head out to  challenge Lanphier  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Normal University is facing Lanphier at the right time seeing as Lanphier is stuck on  an  eight-game losing streak. As for Springfield Southeast, they will venture away from home to  face off against Decatur Eisenhower  at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday.
