The Parkview Vikings suffered their biggest loss since December 27, 2023 on Monday. They took a serious blow against Rolla, falling 72-41. Parkview has struggled against Rolla recently, as their matchup on Monday was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.
When it comes to explaining why Parkview lost, one person who can't be blamed is Brooklynn Masten. Despite the final result, she scored 24 points along with seven rebounds. That was a full 58.5% of Parkview's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Hall, who scored ten points.
Rolla had a senior duo take command as Resa Martin scored 25 points along with eight rebounds and five assists and Willow Gideon scored 25 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Martin has scored all season. Mariah Watkins was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with three steals.
Parkview dropped their record down to 1-17 with that loss, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Rolla, their win bumped their record up to 16-2.
Parkview won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Reeds Spring at 5:45 p.m. on January 30th. As for Rolla, they will be playing at home against Lebanon at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lebanon will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings (they are ranked 279th, while Rolla is ranked 11th).
