After a string of four wins, the Archbishop McCarthy Mavericks's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 57-50 hit to the loss column at the hands of Jupiter. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Archbishop McCarthy has scored all season.
Archbishop McCarthy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Andrew Sanchez, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds. George Sterr was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Archbishop McCarthy's loss dropped their record down to 9-2. As for Jupiter, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.
Archbishop McCarthy will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Gulf at 6:00 p.m. on January 3rd. Gulf will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 556th, while Archbishop McCarthy is ranked 49th). Jupiter and Ridgeview will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 5th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
