Two dominant backs in Tyrone Clark Jr. and Elijah Kimble are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The St. Francis Red Raiders will host the Canisius Crusaders at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Canisius will be up against a hot St. Francis team: the squad just extended their winning streak to seven. The Red Raiders claimed a resounding 35-0 victory over Bishop Timon-St. Jude. Given the Red Raiders' advantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 13th, while the Tigers are ranked 225th) , the win on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Trent Buttles
| 11/15/25 vs Bishop Timon-St. Jude | 140.9 |
| 09/26/25 @ Cathedral Prep | 126.7 |
| 09/20/25 vs Catholic Memorial | 120.8 |
| 10/24/25 vs McDowell | 109 |
| 10/10/25 @ Varsity Opponent | 99.2 |
Trent Buttles continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 41 yards and one TD, while also throwing for 113 yards and one touchdown while completing 92.3% of his passes. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in passer rating (140.9).
St. Francis' run defense was locked in: Bishop Timon-St. Jude could only muster 3.1 yards per carry. The team can thank Larry Hardy iii for the heroic effort on defense: he. St. Francis didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 8.3.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Canisius, who bounced back after a loss on the road on November 1st. They blew past St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute 35-14 on Saturday. The score was all tied up 7-7 at the break, but the Crusaders were the (much) better team in the second half.
Canisius didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Xavier Gates-Franklin.
St. Francis' record is now 9-1. As for Canisius, their record now sits at 6-4.
Saturday's game might be decided on the ground. St. Francis has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 202.5 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Canisius struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 273.2 rushing yards. There's a good chance Saturday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
St. Francis strolled past Canisius when the teams last played on November 1st by a score of 29-14. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Kimble, who rushed for 120 yards and one score. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will the Red Raiders still be able to contain Kimble? There's only one way to find out.
