Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Agawam). They blew past the Minnechaug Regional Falcons 15-3 on Monday. The Brownies haven't had any issues with the Falcons recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Avery Gordon spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season.

At the plate, Agawam let Alexina Lentes and Payton Malanson run wild. Lentes scored three runs while going 4-for-5, while Malanson went 3-for-5 with three runs, one triple, and two RBI. Lentes also brought in two RBI, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Kiley Ryan, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI.

Agawam always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Agawam now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Minnechaug Regional, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-3.

Looking ahead, Agawam will take on Westfield at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bombers' pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so the Brownies' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Minnechaug Regional, they will head out on the road to challenge Tantasqua Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
