It was a good run, but the Glen Lake Lakers unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 60-51 to Benzie Central. Glen Lake was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Benzie Central apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Several Lakers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jacob Plamondon, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. Benji Allen was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Glen Lake's loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-3. As for Benzie Central, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Glen Lake the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Buckley at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. Buckley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 368th, while Glen Lake is ranked 167th). As for Benzie Central, they will be playing at home against Bay City Western at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
