Baseball Recap: Chiefland Find Success

Chiefland barely beat P.K. Yonge the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Indians never let the Blue Wave get on the board and left with a 14-0 victory on Tuesday. The Indians haven't had any issues with the Blue Wave recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Chiefland let Luke Watkins and Trey Meeks run wild. Watkins scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2, while Meeks scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. The dominant performance also gave Watkins a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Colton Brown, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

The victory got Chiefland back to even at 9-9. As for P.K. Yonge, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season.

Chiefland will venture away from home to face off against Oak Hall at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for P.K. Yonge, they will welcome Eastside at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Blue Wave are facing the Rams at the right time seeing as the Rams are stuck on a 16-game losing streak.
