Even though Varsity Opponent scored an imposing 69 points on Saturday, Balboa School still came out on top. Balboa School walked away with a 79-69 win over Varsity Opponent. The win made it back-to-back wins for Balboa School.
Leading Balboa School to victory were Travis Musonda and Jamaal Phatty. Musonda scored 16 points along with six rebounds, while Phatty scored 20 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Musonda has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Kendall Connor, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Balboa School has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season. As for Varsity Opponent, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost 33 of their last 36 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 396-1455-2 record this season.
Balboa School will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Central Pointe Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. Balboa School has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,121 points over their last 16 matches. As for Varsity Opponent, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 99-81 loss vs. Broome Street Academy on the 10th.
