The Da Vinci Dragons will face off against the NYOS Charter Jaguars at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday. Da Vinci has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 353 points over their last five games.
Da Vinci put the finishing touches on their 15th blowout victory of the season two weeks ago. They took their match at home with ease, bagging a 72-30 win over Deming. 72 seems to be a good number for Da Vinci as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Meanwhile, NYOS Charter unfortunately witnessed the end of their eight-game winning streak on Saturday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 65-64 to Meridian. Even though they lost, NYOS Charter's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Lucas Harman, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Mark-Anthony Amichia was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds.
Da Vinci pushed their record up to 24-10 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.3 points per game. As for NYOS Charter, their loss dropped their record down to 17-6.
Everything came up roses for Da Vinci against NYOS Charter when the teams last played back in February of 2022 as the squad secured a 64-28 victory. Will Da Vinci repeat their success, or does NYOS Charter have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
