The Kinder Yellowjackets will look to defend their home field on Friday against the Avoyelles Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both teams will really light up the scoreboard.
Two weeks ago, Kinder earned a 32-21 victory over Westlake. The win made it back-to-back wins for Kinder.
Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Avoyelles at home against Pickering on Friday as the team secured a 54-6 victory. Avoyelles' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
Decareyn Sampson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 319 yards and five touchdowns on only eight carries. Sampson was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 62 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Kevin Jones, who rushed for 73 yards and a touchdown.
Their wins bumped Kinder to 6-4 and Avoyelles to 3-7.
Kinder didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Avoyelles in their previous meeting back in December of 2020, but they still walked away with a 28-22 win. Will Kinder repeat their success, or does Avoyelles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
