San Jacinto managed to keep up with Hemet until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. San Jacinto was the victim of a tough 84-64 loss at the hands of Hemet. While losing is never fun, San Jacinto can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 661st, while Hemet is ranked 135th).
Meanwhile, Moreno Valley was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 71-66 to Norte Vista.
The losing side was boosted by Jamall Thompson, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 11 assists. Those 11 assists set a new season-high mark for he. Another player making a difference was Zyetice Hayes, who scored 12 points.
San Jacinto now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Moreno Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-6.
