The Accelerate Christian Warriors's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their sixth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 34-33 to Christ Academy. Accelerate Christian was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Christ Academy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2023.
Accelerate Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Blain Holman, who scored nine points. Jaxon McKnight was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six rebounds.
Accelerate Christian's loss was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 3-14. As for Christ Academy, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Accelerate Christian will take on Holy Cross Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Christ Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Accelerate Christian at 6:30 p.m. on January 26th.
