The Abbott RVT Wolverines lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the loss they were handed on on Wednesday was a bit more commanding. They were the victim of a rough 77-54 loss at the hands of New Milford. Abbott RVT was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Green Wave apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Armani Checo continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for New Milford, shooting 4-for-6 from deep and dropping a double-double on 25 points and ten assists. It was the first time this season that Checo posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Esposito, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Abbott RVT dropped their record down to 3-9 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for New Milford, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-10.
Abbott RVT will face off against the Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Kaynor Tech is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak. As for New Milford, they will be playing at home against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bunnell presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Green Wave in Connecticut (the Bulldogs are ranked eighth, while the Green Wave are ranked 157th).
