Softball Recap: Davis Comes Up Short

If Davis was riding high fresh off their 6-0 takedown of Herriman last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Davis came up short against the Pleasant Grove Vikings on Tuesday, falling 17-10. Even though they lost, the Darts' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.1 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Norah Sunderland made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-5 with one home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Riley Jaques, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.

Sunderland wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Davis kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.

Davis now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Pleasant Grove, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Coming up, Davis will face off against Viewmont at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Davis' pitchers better be ready for this one: Viewmont has averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. As for Pleasant Grove, they will be playing at home against West at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The timing is sure in Pleasant Grove's favor as the team sits on nine straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while West has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
