Jett Slusser posted a new career-low in hits on Friday. He wasn't messing around, striking out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The pitching appearance was his sixth straight with six or more strikeouts.

Slusser's strong effort led Pomeroy over St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates are a perfect 6-0 against St. John-Endicott/LaCrosse going back to April of 2023, a lead they'll look to extend.
