After a string of three wins, the Seminole Ridge Hawks's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 82-60 walloping at the hands of Cardinal Gibbons. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Seminole Ridge's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Janiah Suprius, who scored 19 points along with six rebounds, and Breanna Custodio who scored 17 points along with two steals. Custodio hasn't dropped below two steals for six straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayla Midget, who scored 11 points.
Seminole Ridge's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-6. As for Cardinal Gibbons, they pushed their record up to 15-3 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Seminole Ridge will be playing at home against Santaluces at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Seminole Ridge is facing Santaluces at the right time seeing as Santaluces is stuck on a five-game losing streak. Cardinal Gibbons' road trip will continue as they head out to face North Miami Beach at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th. North Miami Beach is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
