Friday just wasn't the day for Fossil Ridge's offense. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 8-0 walloping at the hands of Keller Central on Friday. While losing is never fun, Fossil Ridge can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 428th, while Keller Central is ranked 89th).
Meanwhile, Southlake Carroll can now show off 13 landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They put the hurt on Byron Nelson with a sharp 6-1 win.
Fossil Ridge dropped their record down to 1-9-1 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only scored zero goals over those four matchups. As for Southlake Carroll, their victory bumped their record up to 16-0.
Fossil Ridge might still be hurting after the 7-0 defeat they got from Southlake Carroll when the teams last played back in March of 2023. Can Fossil Ridge avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
