The Burlington Cougars came into Saturday's matchup having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They blew past Evangel Christian Academy 63-37. This was payback for Burlington, who suffered a 69-62 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Keziah Williams continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds. He hasn't dropped below 15 points for six straight games. Stanton Cure was another key contributor, scoring six points along with 14 rebounds.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Drew Gregory, who scored four points along with nine assists and six rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Bo Galliart, who scored 15 points.
Burlington's victory bumped their record up to 8-9. As for Evangel Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Burlington will square off against Deer Trail at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Evangel Christian Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Simla at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Simla will roll in looking for their 17th straight victory, something Evangel Christian Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
