Leading Jefferson Area to victory were Kennidie Rogers and Mia Contenza. Rogers scored 12 points along with six rebounds and five steals, while Contenza dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Rogers continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Danielle Furman, who scored eight points along with eight rebounds and four steals.
Despite the defeat, St. John saw an underclassman step up: Mickey Zheng scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and seven steals. Zheng scored a full 48.6% of St. John's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Marissa Williams, who scored two points along with three blocks.
Jefferson Area's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-5. As for St. John, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.
