The Gorham Fayette Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their seventh straight loss. They suffered a tough 39-17 defeat at the hands of Hilltop. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Gorham Fayette in their matchups with Hilltop: they've now lost seven in a row.
It was another big night for Libbie Baker, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds for Hilltop. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Baker has scored at least a third of Hilltop's points.
Gorham Fayette's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Hilltop, the victory (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 10-4.
Gorham Fayette will look to defend their home court on Thursday against North Central at 7:00 p.m. North Central comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 25 points in their last eight games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for Hilltop, they will head out on the road to square off against Montpelier at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Montpelier is on a five-game streak of home wins, Hilltop a six-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court.
