Baseball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for South Holt

South Holt had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They walked away with a 9-5 win over the Albany Warriors. That's more bragging rights for the Knights, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The team relied heavily on Tayte Prussman, who went 2-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Hayes Weller, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: South Holt kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Albany only managed six hits.

South Holt pushed their record up to 15-6 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Albany, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. South Holt will venture away from home to face off against North Platte at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Albany, they will square off against Penney at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
