After only 23 points in their last contest, Hedgesville made sure to put some points up on the board against Wakefield Country Day on Wednesday. Hedgesville really took it to Wakefield Country Day for the full four quarters, racking up a 58-8 win on the road. With Hedgesville ahead 26-3 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Hedgesville found their leader in underclassman Gracie Brown, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and ten rebounds. Brown is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Natalie Yates, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Washington waltzed into their contest on Monday with three straight wins but they left with four. They secured a 45-39 W over Musselman.
Hedgesville's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-6. As for Washington, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
Hedgesville was taken down by Washington 58-17 when the teams last played on January 3rd. The game was all but decided by halftime, at which point Hedgesville was down 30-7.
