Paradise is 2-8 against Willows since April of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Bobcats will look to defend their home field against the Honkers at 3:00 p.m. Paradise has given up an average of 8.4 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Paradise saw some tournament action on Saturday. They came up short against Lassen, falling 13-3.
Paradise saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Charlie Porter, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Willows). They were the clear victors by a 30-15 margin over Redding Christian last Monday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Honkers needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
Gianna Calonico was incredible, getting on base in five of her eight plate appearances with five runs, five RBI, and one triple. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Chelsea Perman, who went 3-for-6 with four runs, four RBI, and one triple.
Willows kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 18 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Paradise now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Willows, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-11.
Friday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Paradise has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .451. However, it's not like Willows struggles in that department as they've averaged .445. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Paradise might still be hurting after the 9-3 loss they got from Willows in their previous matchup back in March of 2025. Will the Bobcats have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more softball content.
