The Royse City Bulldogs pushed their score all the way to 31 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Tyler Legacy by a score of 34-31. Royse City was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Tyler Legacy apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in October of 2022.
Royse City's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Jace Oliver, who rushed for 71 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 83 yards and a touchdown. Tyreke Cockroft was another key contributor, rushing for 160 yards and a touchdown.
Tyler Legacy can attribute much of their success to Kalan Greenhouse, who rushed for 104 yards and four touchdowns. The team also got some help courtesy of Kavion Hall, who rushed for 113 yards.
Royse City has been struggling recently, as they've lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season. As for Tyler Legacy, their victory ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-5.
Royse City will face off against Rockwall-Heath at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rockwall-Heath is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. As for Tyler Legacy, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against North Forney at 7:00 p.m.
