First Flight had won two straight games and Mason Dobie did his part to make it three on Thursday. The First Flight Nighthawks had just enough and edged the Currituck County Knights out 81-79 thanks to Dobie, who posted 38 points. His evening made it 19 games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points.

Currituck County's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jamie Dance, who went 13-for-22 on his way to 31 points and eight rebounds, and Tristan Peterson, who went 7-for-15 en route to 22 points in addition to six boards and three blocks. With that strong performance, Peterson is now averaging an impressive 15.2 points per game. Ian Brown was another key player, putting up eight points.

First Flight pushed their record up to 16-8 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.1 points over those games. As for Currituck County, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 13-11 record this season.
