The Esperanza Aztecs will head out on the road to challenge the Nogales Nobles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Esperanza had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Bulldogs. Esperanza better thank their lucky stars for the performance of COLE POLING, as he scored every single goal for his team.
La Canada typically has all the answers at home, but on Wednesday Nogales proved too difficult a challenge. They won by a goal and slipped past the Spartans 1-0. The victory was just what Nogales needed coming off of a 5-1 defeat in their prior matchup.
Esperanza is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5-4 record this season. As for Nogales, their win bumped their record up to 11-6-2.
Esperanza came out on top in a nail-biter against Nogales in their previous meeting back in December of 2017, sneaking past 1-0. Does Esperanza have another victory up their sleeve, or will Nogales turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
