The International Community Comets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their seventh straight loss. They took a 69-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Kissimmee Christian. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
International Community's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Paxton Boaz, who scored 17 points along with five assists and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Gavin Philips, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds.
North Kissimmee Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Izaiah Noel out in front who scored 21 points along with eight assists and two steals. That's the first time this season that Noel posted eight or more assists. Shayne Gabbidon was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with two steals.
International Community has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost nine of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-13 record this season. As for North Kissimmee Christian, the victory (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 19-4.
