Softball Recap: Lincoln Wins Going Away Against Mira Loma

Lincoln's game on Saturday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Mira Loma Matadors with a sharp 21-2 win. That 19 run margin sets a new team best for the Fighting Zebras this season.

Mia Maldonado was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five runs, six RBI, and three doubles. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Drew Hamilton was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two stolen bases and three runs.

Lincoln hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive matches.

The victory snapped Lincoln's losing streak at four games and leaves them with a 8-17 record. As for Mira Loma, they are on a 14-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-9.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Lincoln will face off against rival Oakmont at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Mira Loma is set to square off against their familiar foe Colfax at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
