The Hitchcock-Tulare Patriots's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They fell just short of White River by a score of 47-45. That's two games in a row now that Hitchcock-Tulare has lost by exactly two points.
When it comes to explaining why Hitchcock-Tulare lost, one person who can't be blamed is Katelyn Schroeder. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds. Schroeder scored a full 37.8% of Hitchcock-Tulare's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Isabel Gilbert was another key contributor, scoring four points along with ten rebounds and three blocks.
Hitchcock-Tulare's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for White River, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-1.
Hitchcock-Tulare's road trip will continue as they head out to face Iroquois/Lake Preston at 6:15 p.m. on January 2nd. Iroquois/Lake Preston has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for White River, they will be playing at home against Kadoka at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in South Dakota (Kadoka is ranked 41st, while White River is ranked 37th).
