Waldron and Litchfield are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. Having just played yesterday, the Waldron Spartans will head out on the road to face off against the Litchfield Terriers at 7:30 p.m. on February 8th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Michigan (Waldron is ranked 573rd, while Litchfield is ranked 569th).
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 55-23, which was the final score in Waldron's tilt against Britton Deerfield on Wednesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Waldron has scored all season.
In what's become a running theme this season, Litchfield gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They breezed by Camden-Frontier on the road to the tune of 73-44. The win was familiar territory for Litchfield who now have three in a row.
Waldron has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season. As for Litchfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season.
Waldron skirted past Litchfield 55-53 when the teams last played back in December of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for Waldron since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
