A well-balanced attack led Northeastern over Riverside in every quarter on their way to victory on Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Jets blew the Pirates out of the water with a 36-8 final score. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Jets had established a 21-point advantage.

Northeastern's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cody Houseman, who rushed for 236 yards and one score while picking up 9.8 yards per carry. Those 236 rushing yards gave Houseman a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Diezel Taylor, who threw for 236 yards and a pair of touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes.

Northeastern has started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 35.5 points this season. As for Riverside, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Northeastern will host Greeneview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup will give the Jets their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Riverside, they will head out on the road to square off against Spencerville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
