Plano had lost three games straight , but after bumping their record up to 8-18 on Thursday that streak is in the rearview. They skirted past the Harvard Hornets 11-10. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Reapers have posted since March 17th.
Quentin Santoria made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Jason Phillips was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Amari Bryant, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Plano kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 3-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
As for Harvard, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 14 of their last 15 contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-18 record this season. Their defeat continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.
On Harvard's side, Eltan Powles made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-5 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Ryan Bennett was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Coming up, Plano will challenge Newark at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Reapers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Norsemen have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season. As for Harvard, they will venture away from home to square off against Zion-Benton at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. The Zee-Bees have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.88 runs per game on average), something the Hornets will no doubt try to take advantage of.
