The Batavia Bulldogs had to start their season on the road on Wednesday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They took a 37-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of Turpin.
Leading Turpin to victory were Sophia Schiano and Josie Carrelli. Schiano scored 11 points along with 6 rebounds, while Carrelli scored 14 points along with 6 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyla Zananiri, who scored 5 points along with 8 rebounds and 5 steals.
Batavia's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Turpin, their victory bumped their record up to 1-0.
Batavia will head out on the road to face off against Wilmington at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Turpin, they will be playing at home against Indian Hill at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
