AA District 12 recap Sept. 26, 2012
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Summit, who took down 136th ranked East Hickman County, 21-10.
Giles County came in at 25 in the state poll after placing at number 27 last week.
Lewis County's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Lucas Graham threw for 26 and one touchdown and Shane Bowman had 26 yards receiving. On the ground Cody Owens chipped in 72 yards.
Giles County's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Bobcats feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Cobb Al has thrown for 1059 yards and 12 touchdowns this season, while Kenton Baker has 33 catches for 633 yards. Al also leads the league in rushing with 460 yards.
The top two teams in the league will face off this week when first place Giles County takes on second place Page. The Bobcats last week, while Page defeated the Panthers.
Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when Giles County takes on Spring Hill. David O'Connor's team's offense has scored 224 points this season, good for No. 1 in the league, while the Raiders have allowed only 207 on the year.
The Spartans moved up to 253 from 281 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in AA District 12. A 21-10 win over the Eagles helped Summit improve its standing.
