The Seneca Bobcats's game last Friday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They snuck past Walhalla with a 76-72 victory. Given Seneca's advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 58th, while Walhalla is ranked 224th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Seneca got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Cam O'kelley out in front who scored 24 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Stu Finley, who scored 15 points.
Seneca's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 68.3 points per game. As for Walhalla, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.
Seneca will head out on the road to challenge West-Oak at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. West-Oak has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 7. As for Walhalla, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pendleton at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Pendleton focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Tuesday.
