North Central Missouri recap October 29, 2013
Boonville's Jacob Francis recorded the longest rushing play in North Central Missouri this season in his game against Marshall last week. Francis ran for 74 yards on the play and finished with 121 on the day as his team bested the Owls.
Moberly extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Mexico, 41-14. The victory was the ninth in a row for the team.
Tyler Cott made the biggest impact on defense this week as Marshall lost to Boonville. He grabbed 1 sack.
Makenna Cook threw for 151 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Francis was a passing and rushing force as Devin Brown's team defeated the Owls. He completed 10 passes for 170 yards and 1 touchdown and also ran for 121 yards. Francis' favorite target this week was Austin Hulbert, who caught 5 passes for 98 yards.
Devin Cott was a force in the backfield as Marshall fell to the Pirates.
Cook put up the best numbers in passing as Kirksville topped Fulton.
The Hornets' Joe Schlemeier and Chris Tilson have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Schlemeier has thrown for 1,808 yards this season, while Tilson has 45 catches for 737 yards. Blake Riley from the Tigers leads the league in rushing with 919 yards.
The top two teams in North Central Missouri will face off this week when first place Moberly takes on second place Hannibal.
Going into this week's game against Chillicothe, Fulton's Schlemeier needs 192 passing yards to surpass 2,000 on the season.
Riley of the Kirksville is only 81 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 135 carries Riley has accumulated 919 yard this year.
Boonville and the Owls played the closest game in the league this week, with Boonville eventually emerging with a 28-27 victory. Francis in the win.
