Bagdad waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They blew past the Desert Heights Prep Yote 13-4. The Sultans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by seven runs or more this season.

Rowdy Hooper was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Destry Owings was a standout: he scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was Aaron Landers, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-5.

Bagdad was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .438. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Desert Heights Prep only posted a batting average of .222.

Bagdad pushed their record up to 13-1 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Desert Heights Prep, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1-1.
