Defeat or not, Falls Church got some senior leadership from Simone Pendleton and Hannah Strother. Pendleton scored 15 points along with eight rebounds, while Strother. scored 11 points along with two steals. That was a full 34.9% of Falls Church's points, marking the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Falls Church has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-8 record this season. As for Mount Vernon, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Falls Church will square off against the Wolves at 5:45 p.m. on Monday. As for Mount Vernon, they will head out on the road to take on the Hawks at 7:15 p.m. on Monday. Hayfield presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Majors in Virginia (the Hawks are ranked 35th, while the Majors are ranked 133rd).
