The Lone Peak Knights are ranked highly in their home state, and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of the Curtis Vikings. Lone Peak took down Curtis 61-45. The win was some much needed relief for Lone Peak as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
It was another big night for Jackson Taylor, who went 7 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and 2 assists. Another player making a difference was Cole Caton, who scored 11 points.
The win got Lone Peak back to even at 5-5. As for Curtis, they bumped their record down to 8-4 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lone Peak and Corner Canyon will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Corner Canyon is ranked 27th, while Lone Peak is ranked 16th). As for Curtis, they will be playing at home against Sumner at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Sumner's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five contests.
