The Rock Springs Tigers had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 19.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They came out on top against Star Valley by a score of 41-29. This was payback for Rock Springs, who suffered a 47-28 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Star Valley's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Emily Dana, who scored 13 points along with three steals, and Sheridan Coles who scored six points along with five rebounds and four steals. Dana has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played.
Rock Springs' victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-11. As for Star Valley, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-10 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Rock Springs will take on Riverton at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Star Valley, they will head out on the road to challenge Jackson Hole at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Star Valley is facing Jackson Hole at the right time seeing as Jackson Hole is stuck on a 12-game losing streak.
